Now that the dust has settled lets press the rewind button a bit and go back to Sun, April 2nd. Becky Lynch comes out looking like a damn fool with dreds & the e-gang banging automatically pops off.
One side said that she had every right to rock locs because after all the Celts basically started the hairstyle and the other clapped back with the culture vulture accusation because after all .. Becky’s locs are another example of a White person trying to steal yet another thing that belongs to African-Americans.
When it comes to locs and cornrows a lot of people don’t associate anything positive when it comes to African Americans wearing those natural hairstyles.
But we have seen time & time again a totally different reaction from mainstream America the minute Bo Derek or one of those annoying Kardashian/Jenner women rock a Black hairstyle. What was once viewed as unattractive is now seen as fresh and new – chic and cutting edge.
Becky was accused of being a culture vulture and her social media mentions were in shambles, especially when she tried to rename dreadlocks “Lynch Locks”
And looking like a damn fool was time consuming because Becky spent over 10 hours getting those locs put in – for a match that lasted less than 20 minutes. But WrestleMania is the Academy Awards of Wrasslin – where one gets a free pass to look as ridiculous they want to because the chance to go back  might never come around again.
