CM Punk’s relationship with wrestling is very much like that woman who really doesn’t want anything to do with her ex boyfriend, who is still a sucker that can’t resist giving her whatever she wants.
CM Punk’s last WWE match happened years ago but he is well aware that the wrestling connection will always line his pockets. He made quite a bit from autograph signings, a PPV interview and getting his a*s kicked in MMA.
Punk always had a self important air about him like he believes he is the smartest person in the room and his fans were an extension of that. They were insufferable know-it-alls who thought he walked on water. As we all know by now Punk played a chess not checkers move to get back into wrestling. After burning bridges with the WWE he is now a contributor on their show Backstage getting paid by Fox.
Since then Punk has done nothing but stir the pot. He went off on Twitter when he felt that Miz slighted his earth shattering “changing the culture” remark. And Punk basically called Seth Rollins a mark and told him to stay off Twitter for calling him out. But it appears that Punk’s nose in the air attitude bothered Seth more than anything.
Seth said
“But at the end of the day, if he wants to come on our show and run his mouth about me and a company he’s had no part of for the last 5 years, then of course I’m going to stand up for us.This is a place that has given me everything that I’ve ever wanted in my life. Not only me, but it’s provided a living for my family, for people that I love, that I care about. Of course I’m going to have its back. I’m not going to let you push it around, and push me around, and act like you’re so cool. You couldn’t bust a cherry in a fruit fight, dude.
That same self important air is what made Punk’s character work so well, he didn’t have the size so he had to develop the gift of gab and knowing what to say to get under people’s skin. And appears that one has to tread lightly with Punk, he seems to be that guy who will block your phone number without an explanation.
Google is your friend, look up how butt hurt Corey Graves and Jericho came off when Punk dropped them after he left wrestling because he didn’t want them mentioning his hallowed name for clout. Wrestling would definitely be boring without people like Punk. Currently he is enjoying other wrestlers and members of the IWC kissing his a*s while playing the “when are you coming back to the ring” game.
